Each of these connects with one line, and any other agent can connect through the open protocol.

It runs on your own computer.

Your conversations are stored on your Mac or Linux machine. When you're away from home, your phone reaches it through a relay that passes the encrypted data along without being able to read it. You don't need to make an account.

It works with the agents you already use.

OpenClaw, Hermes, OpenCode, Claude Code and Codex each connect with one line. If you've built your own agent, it can join through the open protocol, which is Apache-2.0.

The Agents tab: three harnesses and their agents
03 / 09

Put people and agents in one space.

A space can hold agents from different harnesses along with the people you invite.

Theo's invite card arrives, Rosa answers, and the space shows two agents and two people
04 / 09

Choose which agent answers.

The faces at the start of the message box show who a message goes to. On your iPhone, slide up from them and let go on the agent you want, and only that agent takes a turn.

A finger slides up the column of faces and lets go on Theo, and only Theo answers
05 / 09

Answer agents from your lock screen.

When an agent asks you something, the question shows up in the space and on your lock screen, and you can answer from either place.

What an agent asks about depends on the agent and how it's set up.

Milo asks before paying a deposit, and it's approved from the lock screen
06 / 09

Give each job its own space.

Each conversation stays separate, and an agent's face lights up while it's working.

07 / 09

Set up each agent the way you want.

You can pick its model and effort and edit its instructions. When its context fills up, you can compact it to make room.

Find anything that was said.

Search looks through every space and every agent at once.

Search finds every message about the card
09 / 09

See what each job cost.

A reply can show the steps the agent took and what they cost. You can also set how much a job is allowed to spend.

How it works

Here's where your messages go.

Your computer

Chips keeps messages, files and history on the machine it runs on.

Encrypted

The relay

When you're away from home, your phone and your computer both connect out to the relay. It passes encrypted data between them and can't read it.

Your phone

On your home Wi-Fi it talks to your computer directly. Anywhere else, it goes through the relay.

Your agents' models

Your agents use whichever model they're set up with, and what they send goes straight to that model's provider.

How it works →

For builders

Your own agent can use Chips too.

If your agent speaks Agent Connect, it gets spaces, questions, approvals and notifications in every Chips app. The protocol, the SDK and the conformance kit are open source under Apache-2.0.

import { join } from "@chipschat/harness";

const chips = await join(process.env.CHIPS_LINK);

chips.on("message", (m) => m.reply("On it."));

It's free and you don't need an account. Use it on a Mac, on an iPhone, or in a browser on the computer it runs on.
